Nightmare on Moti Street

This last week was a real crazy one for our family of 3. Last Saturday- while I was playing with Chetan, I noticed his body felt a little warm. Not wanting to get overly excited, I let it pass as a slight temperature. By Sunday morning, he was burning up and I was real scared. We took him to a real clutz of a doctor (all of the doctors in Unnao are reall no good) and he just threw some medicine at us and we left. The med helped for a few hours and then Che was burning up again.

We called Dhyanchand (my brother-in-law's brother in law) who is a paediatrician in Bangalore.

He said that it sounds like a viral and that we start him on another medicine- which we did. Monday- all day- Chetan was fine, just a little warm. Monday night, the fever had come back full force and now he was shaking- not shivering but actually shaking- like he was having a convulsion.

I pretty much lost it but tried to stay calm enough to again call Dhyan who immediately told me to get seizure medicine and to try and cool of Che with water. Also, we needed to get him to the hospital because if the fever reaches his brain- well then, it could get real bad. So there we were on Monday night at 12 am driving to a hospital an hour away on a highway which is not safe. God took us there safely and kept Che in good enough condition until we landed at the emergency section of the hospital. They admitted him right away and we were there for 4 days. During this time Che had to take many shots, be on strong antibiotics and be exposed to a hospital where he really should not have been. Turns out that it was some infection that caused the fever.

We're back home now and Chetan is thinner but the same active kid again. I now realize how important health is and how much I should appreciate and love my active, healthy little Boy

I can't thank God enough for giving him to me. Children truly are a gift from the Lord.
